Winning with Consumers

Branding   +   Product & Packaging Design   +   Merchandising   +   Social Media  +   Magento Development

Reds Racing is a manufacturer for surface remote control racing products. Based in Italy, they come by their racing passion completely naturally. They focus on engines for 1/8 and 1/10 scale onroad and offroad race cars. Some of the engines run on fuel and some run on electricity but they all run very-very fast.

Reds needs to say beautiful and very very fast at the same time. The consumer needs to feel the power.

– Marco Rossi | REDS Racing

A buddy of mine that races RC cars called and said “Hey – I think I am going to start importing these awesome little motors from Italy. Could you design some better graphics for the cooling head and maybe a box?” I was hooked.

Designing the graphics for these engines has been truly exciting and challenging. The engines are meticulously matched, polished and fitted to very very tight tolerances. I try my best to match their passion with my work. After designing a couple engines Marco and Mario began to contact me directly asking if I could do this or do that. Hey can you do a race flyer for us? Hey could you put that thing you did on a t-shirt?

As time has progressed we have evolved into getting together once or twice a year at the national championship races and have a marketing plan discussion face to face. No PowerPoint, just some occasional sketching on the back of a shop towel and lots of debate.

Reds is so tightly connected to its consumers that I think it is
the purest form of B2C I have ever been a part of. It has been rewarding to provide them with communication solutions to a variety of RC related marketing opportunities.

01.

Product Graphics

I have designed all the motor graphics and packaging for the last 6 years. Its usually 6-8 motors and a couple misc items.

02.

Merchandising

The merchandise is fun to work on because they take it so seriously. They have begun to see the value of apparel at the track.

03.

Print Materials

We don’t do a ton of print collateral, only a couple of things each year. They are big fans of social media and would rather focus monies there.

04.

Digital Media

After two experiments on Facebook with just a simple announcement about a new team driver and a pipe and they were hooked.
